I often use a monocle - simple lens consisting of a single glass. The coma of this lens is not corrected so this lens gives a halo around bright elements of image. I use this effect to emphasize the light and to visualize the air. I think the monocle can make the light tangible. This tool was used by pictorialists (photographers, who tried to make their works close to the painting using special techniques of taking pictures and printing) in the late 19th - early 20th century. In contrast to them and to their contemporary followers, I try to use the language of photography and not to imitate painting.
